Possums, or opossums, were originally introduced into New Zealand to form the basis of a fur industry. Now they cause major damage to New Zealand's native plants and birds. Possum furskins are available air dried or in a variety of finishes. Uses include garment trim, linings, gloves and other products such as bed throws which utilize the fur's insulation properties.
