A cultivar of the common whitebeam with elliptical rounded leaves SorbusAria Lutescens is coated with silver hairs on both sides of the leaveswhich makes it very striking in spring. It makes medium sizes conicalheaded neat tree which will grow to about 12m (40ft) which makes it verysuitable for urban planting. The foliage remains grey-green throughout thesummer, with bunches of white flowers in late spring and dark red berriesin autumn. An attractive tree for the garden as it maintains its compactsize and shape.
