Garden Use
Like Rhododendron, Azalea likeacidic conditions (no lime) with well worked soil with plenty of addedcompost. Because they have fibrous roots they do like wet feet so plant ina well draining spot. They are happy in semi shaded spots but prefer asunny position where the flower buds can develop nicely. They are fullyhardy and generally not bothered by frost. Care: Easy care and rarelybothered by pests. Can occasionally be affected by powdery mildew or rustbut this can be sprayed for. Dead head fading flowers to allow for gooddevelopment of next year buds. Prune for shape if needed.
