Clematis 'Purity' is a selectedform of Clematis paniculata and flowers on last year's growth so are notfussy or difficult to manage. Clematis grow well where roses grow well asmake an excellent combination - similar colours to create a lovely blend orcontrasting colours for a more dramatic effect.

Planting Guide
Clematis grow best when their 'head' is inthe sun and their 'feet' are in the shade i.e. they like their root zone tobe cool and protected and the stem to grow up into a sunny position. Theroot zone can be protected with mulch or by using other plants to shieldthe roots from the sun. Clematis can be trained to grow on a trellis,fence, through trees and shrubs, along pergolas or, because they are soversatile, they can even be used as a ground cover. Grow Clematis inhumus rich, moist, well drained soil. They need good drainage or the rootswill rot. Plant so they will receive around six hours sun a day and shieldfrom the hot afternoon rays. You can also grow Clematis in pots. Toperform at their best they should be fertilised well. Use a Rose Fertiliserevery three months or so.
