Instructions
Wear protective clothing whenapplying lawn seed and wash hands when completed. Prepare Spring andautumn are the best times to sow a lawn. To grow a successful lawn, thesoil needs to be in the best possible condition. Clear away existing weedsand grass. Apply a layer of Tui LawnForce® Lawn Preparation Mix 25–30mmdeep to the area, to provide lawn seed with a base of essential nutrientsand fertiliser. Create a level and compact area by raking, rolling andfilling in where needed. Water before sowing lawn seed. Plant Choosea fast growing seed such as Tui LawnForce® Superstrike® Lawn Seed to startseeing results in as little as seven days. Sow seed on a fine day at 25gper square metre. Sow in an east to west direction then a north to southdirection to ensure an even spread. Rake in lightly to cover seed. Waterlightly and keep moist on a daily basis while the seed germinates. Waituntil it has grown to at least 5cm before mowing, so the root system hashad time to develop. Nourish A thick, healthy lawn stops broadleafand other weeds from becoming established. After you have mown it three orfour times, apply Tui LawnForce® Slow Release Lawn Fertiliser to encouragelush, thick, green growth in your lawn. Once established, fertilise yourlawn in spring, early summer and autumn. Well watered, well nourished lawnswill have a better chance of keeping weeds, insect pests and diseases atbay. ^Seeds will germinate in 7 days in ideal weather and soilconditions and when the correct steps are followed. In non-idealconditions, germination may take longer.
