Corokia Frosted Chocolate produces masses of bright yellow star-shapedflowers that brighten up the shrubbery adding interest during spring andsummer. The abundance of berries produced following flowering are brightlycoloured and attract many native birds. A New Zealand Native, slender andcompact, evergreen and hardy the Frosted Chocolate Corokia grows to 1.5-2mwith a spread of 1-1.5m. The small dense leaves enabling tight and compactgrowth makes the Corokia an excellent hedge and offers a neutral andmaintenance free back drop to many planting plans. It is suitable in almostall New Zealand soils and climatic situations and, once established, itwill screen out any unwanted noises and offer very good shelter from strongwinds. The Corokia is also a good specimen in coastal, dry or frosty areasas it is very tough and able to withstand dry, cold and windy conditions.Prefers full sun but will tolerate shady positions also. Corokias will stayreasonably compact and maintain good form but light clipping from time totime will greatly enhance their appearance whilst also responding well tostrong clipping making them an ideal shrub for shaping or hedging. Theyform an interesting and beautifully dense hedge, from very low to mediumheight.
