Hebe ‘Sutherlandii’ forms low, mounds of small, grey-green leaves, settingoff the white flowers with blue anthers. Perfect for growing in groups asground cover, in a sunny or partially shaded spot it is one of the hardiesthebes. Tolerant of salt and pollution it is well suited to coastal or innercity locations.

Garden Use
Hebes can be grown as asingle specimen or planted in groups for great effect. With regulartrimming they can form an attractive informal hedge or border and aninteresting arrangment in any garden. Very hardy it is well suited tocontainers, borders and landscape plantings, requiring little or nomaintenance and is drought tolerant. Hebes are also excellent specimens forpots and planters as well as rockeries, where they fill in the dips betweenrocks perfectly.

Planting Guide
Plant in moistfree-draining soil that is poor or moderately fertile. It should be in asheltered position in full sun or light shade. Hebes need free-drainingsoil that is constantly moist, poor- medium fertile, and slightly acidic toslightly alkaline. They require good mulching at all times. Hardy on sitessheltered from strong, drying winds and hidden from direct winter sunlight,adult hebes usually regenerate readily after harsh winter damage if theyare well-established.
