Garden Plant Markers

Create easy plant markers to identify your plants

Simple and fun to make, garden plant markers remind you which seeds you have planted where. And they are ideal for introducing your little ones to the fun of gardening. 

 

Materials

wooden spoon garden plant markers

  • Collect some objects you might find around the place or from junk shops e.g.,
    • Old wooden or plastic spoons
    • Other old cutlery items
    • Ice-block sticks
    • Driftwood
    • Stones
    • Pegs & Sticks
  • Felt tip pen – permanent marker
  • Paints - water resistant
  • Pencil

 

 

Instructions

  • Draw your design and plant name in pencil on to the wood or stone that you have chosen.
  • Once you're satisfied with your design, use the felt tip pen to write the plant name. 
  • Finally use paint to decorate where you've placed your pencil markings.
  • When the paint is dry place your plant identifier object in the garden where you have planted your seeds.

Adult supervision may be required to help with this project, depending on the child's age..
